Psychology in Palliative Care
His most substantial experience in palliative care comes from St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences, Bangalore, where, as Visiting Professor, he worked in adult and paediatric palliative care and, above all, organised courses and training for the staff.
Since 2022, in collaboration with the University of Wolverhampton and Semmelweis University, he has also provided psychological support to patients with serious or incurable illness, to family caregivers and to health care workers, with particular attention to anxiety and depression.
The work integrates Narrative Therapy and Dignity Therapy, to support continuity of identity and psychological resilience at the end of life. It is closely connected with his teaching of bioethics and clinical communication.
